In a large pot over medium heat, combine pasta rice, coconut milk, water, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, and let simmer, covered, about 10 to 12 minutes or until pasta is tender, but firm.
Remove from heat, carefully pour off remaining liquid (if any) and let sit for about 10 minutes, then fluff with a fork. Serve topped with sesame seeds, if desired.
