Ingredients

1/2 medium   Onion

500 g  Can Tomatoes, diced

500 g  Can Tomato sauce

170 g  Tomato juice

2 Tbsp  Basil (can use dry Basil)

1 Tbsp  Canola or olive oil

1 Tbsp  Parsley (fresh or dry)

1 tsp  Salt

2 c  Penne pasta

1/4 c  Cheese of your choice for topping after serving

1/2 tsp  Chilli flakes

1 pinch   Oregano

Instructions

Step 1

Fry onions in oil until translucent. Add garlic and cook for one more minute.

Step 2

Add tomato, tomato sauce, tomato juice, black pepper, salt, basil and parsley .

Basil (can use dry Basil)

Step 3

Once sauce boils, reduce to simmer and add grilled chicken. Simmer for 10 minutes and set aside.

Step 4

Cook penne pasta in boiling, salted water with a teaspoon of salt for 8 to 12 minutes. Strain pasta and add to sauce.

Optional: Add red chilli pepper flakes and oregano for a spicier version.
